This fun healing vacation is held at a beautiful boutique resort and horse ranch in Tucson, Arizona. Tanque Verde Ranch is tucked into the low mountains on the east side of Tucson and has been family owned for three generations. You can feel the family and low-key vibe when you arrive. There are only 69 rooms/casitas at ground level on the property, and the resort staff is super accommodating to make sure you have everything you need to make this a special experience for all. This resort is kid friendly and we designed this retreat to make sure guests of all ages have options to how they want to spend their day... like: Archery, axe throwing, nature walks and talks, pine needle casting workshops, fishing, biking, and more...

Included in the price of the Retreat:
Cost of Retreat includes accommodation, 3 meals a day (except the day we check in and check out), taxes, gratuity for the resort staff, Gentle Somatic Yoga classes, Somatic Summit activities (for those signed up)

Not included: 
Roundtrip transportation to and from Tucson International Airport - however it is affordable: approx $25 each way, pp. To make reservations contact the resort; horseback riding, resort guided activities, spa treatments, and bar tabs are paid separately by each participant.

GSY Somatic Summit
This is our FIRST international gathering of our Somatic Family to exchange ideas, learn from each other, and co-create!

James' intentions and vision for our time together:

  • Recently we had our monthly livestream Somatic Sanctuary workshop and there must have been up to 20+ GSY certified practitioners who participated from around the world. It was so fun and fulfilling to interact. It felt like an unplanned reunion of sorts. We have so many resources to share with our collective soma, and this is the basis for our inspiration for this Retreat. 
  • We have a space at the resort to hold group movement classes that is rented all day on Saturday and Sunday. Beyond the morning GSY classes, where everyone is welcome to join, there will be options for the GSY Practitioner group to meet at various times of the day to hold sharing circles, demonstrations, workshops/classes, etc... Proposed schedule will be posted soon. 
  • As you know, GSY promotes a balanced and healthy lifestyle where the whole-self can be nourished & celebrated. This Somatic Summit provides a container in which you can bring friends, family, and partners to immerse in our collective energy field... where we can let our hair down, have fun, connect, network, relax... all in a conscious container of like-hearted people. 
  

*The prerequisite for attending this Summit is the completion of GSY Levels 1, 2, and/or 3

About James:

James Knight, founder of Gentle Somatic Yoga®, is one of the early pioneers to bridge Somatics and yoga. He is an Experienced Yoga Teacher, Certified Hanna Somatic Educator from the Novato Institute for Somatic Research and Training (3rd wave), and Integrative Therapist. His passion is to inspire and encourage others to live a fulfilling life of physical, emotional and spiritual freedom.
 
From his combined experience as a lifelong yogi, intuitive bodyworker, body-oriented psychotherapist, movement educator and author, James created an easy and reliable method that reverses the cause and effects of muscular pain, stiffness, and other tension-based conditions. Most people find immediate and long-lasting beneficial results.

Therefore, we have set up the room choices and the retreat optimally for double (or more) occupancy. This not only lowers the price of the room significantly ($500+ savings for each person), but it also brings more shared experiences and deepens the intimacy with those you love. 

Purchasing your room today, in addition to paying your deposit, GUARANTEES your room of choice. And, if you change your mind you want to upgrade your room to include more people, we can help you do that. This resort has a total of 69 spacious rooms and are well appointed. There are room options with bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms, fireplaces, sitting rooms, covered balconies, and more...). More spacious than our Salas, Casitas come complete with comfy sitting areas and a fireplace. After a day full of activity, relax in your air-conditioned room to enjoy a colorful desert sunset view through the large windows. We selected this time of year for the spectacular seasonal rains (monsoons) that are extraordinary to behold.


In the morning or evenings after GSY Summit Workshops, enjoy nature from your patio. Casitas in this part of the venue feature one king. **This room features one king bedroom with a door and 2 queen sofa beds.

Priced per person, this retreat is designed for double (or more) occupancy as most of the rooms can accommodate more than one guest comfortably. Casita rooms are ideal for sharing because they are more spacious include one king bedroom, and two queen sofa sleepers in a comfortable living room and outdoor patio for sunsets and sunrises.

**Guests not participating in the retreat can enjoy the property when you are in session and join for all meals.

More spacious than our Salas, these casitas come with 2 queen beds, complete with a separate living room, an en-suite bathroom, kitchen table, and include a fireplace. After a day full of activity, relax with a good book, or enjoy a fiery sunset on your private patio.

Non-Event Guest Pass - $337 

We encourage all participants to take part in the GSY Retreat for the optimal experience and somatic reset. However, if your guest would like to have their own vacation experience at the venue without attending the scheduled workshops, you can buy a guest pass which will cover all the meals for your guest as well as their room gratuities and taxes. All guests are invited to take James' morning GSY classes.

*Some group activities outside of scheduled GSY workshops can still be added to your stay separately through Tanque Verde Ranch directly. (Examples include: Sunset horseback ride with BBQ and live music -- can be booked a-la-carte.)

Our cancellation policy is as follows:  Deposits are due upon registering.  In-person event deposits are non-refundable. If the event you are registered for is more than 90 days out, partial refunds for the remaining payment may be considered, on a case-by-case basis, based on our retreat/training venues policies.  There are no refunds if you want to cancel if your event is scheduled in less than 90 days.
